RIP David Paul of The Barbarian Brothers

David Paul passed away on March 6, 2020. He was 62 years old.

One of my proudest journeys as a podcaster has been Barbroians, and how JD and I went from delighting at silly movies staring these identical twin bodybuilders, to genuinely appreciating the talents of Peter & David Paul as performers, and being struck by the thoughtful and soulful journeys they took after they left the film industry. David continued his noted work as a photographer, kept putting out music and poetry, and was building a new business for himself as a natural carpenter, his talents highlighted by the house he built from the bottom up.

One half of the duo is gone. I really hope Faith Street Corner Tavern, the autobiographical indie art film they made together, is released some day so their work in film can ultimately be punctuated not by the wacky antics of their action comedies, but by the personal philosophies they spent a lifetime developing.
